Live Painting | Palais Sommer: Klaviernacht

This summer, I performed as a live painting artist at the Palais Sommer's Klaviernacht — an open-air piano night at the heart of Dresden's Neumarkt. As Korean pianist Ahhyun Lee took to the stage on the open platform next to the iconic Dresden Frauenkirche, I translated Chopin's piano sonata Op. 35 consisting of four movements into visual form in real time, continuing my ongoing series of works that render musical energy through expressive brushwork and drawing.

Interactive Installation | Action Art Festival 2026: Voices of Now

Excited to join an upcoming group exhibition with international artists at the Action Art Festival in Náchod, Czech Republic. This marks my foray into conceptual installation art – work that engages directly with social and political themes, marking a deliberate split from my more aesthetic explorations with ink, charcoal, and music. For this program, I shall present an interactive installation titled 'Siren Doomsongs and Blown Windpipes' examining voice, testimony, and complicity as a diagram of contemporary media consumption. Using industrial PVC drainage pipework as both installation material and acoustic apparatus, I restage three structural positions from Homer's Sirens episode: the bound listener hearing testimonies of whistleblowers and journalists echoed through the pipes, the deafened navigator scrolling the same content on a separate muted terminal, and the unseen seducer of the algorithm trained on the initial playlist which recommends further content for doomscrolling. The piece asks who controls the voice being heard, whose freedom or voice is at stake institutionally, and what is lost when hearing and acting are split apart by media consumption.

Offene Ateliers 2026 | Live-Painting Performance

Live-Painting begins at 15.00 - 15.30 at the Walkway Outside the Studio

Behind every studio door is a different world. On 15 November the Albertateliers open their doors, and I'd love to welcome you in. Join me and my fellow Albertatelier artists for a day of art, conversation and community.

What's on:

Live-Painting Performance at 15:00. I'll paint live on the walkway outside my studio. The session begins between 15:00 and 15:30.
Visit the studios of fellow Albertatelier artists and talk with them about their work.
View and collect artworks and wares directly from the artists.
Affordable drinks, brownies and snacks will be served.
The location is wheelchair accessible.
Dress sufficiently for mid-November outdoor weather; preferably with clothes you are willing to get splashed on (so you could stand closer).
