Raphael Ng

Born in Singapore
Resides and works in Dresden, Germany

Raphael Ng is a contemporary artist working in performative drawing with charcoal and Chinese ink on large-scale paper. He visually renders musical compositions through live gestural interpretations by combining East Asian calligraphic practice with Western drawing techniques. His practice prioritizes the immediacy and physicality of the sublime experience over meticulous refinement toward the perfection of beauty, emphasizing the embodied temporal presence in each unique performance.
