WELCOME! New Brooms — Old Hands 2025/03

Künstlerbund Dresden, 13 November 2025 – 5 February 2026

A two-person presentation with Doris Titze, shown as part of the Künstlerbund Dresden's tandem format pairing newly inducted members with established ones. Opened on 13 November 2025 at the association's offices on Hauptstraße 34, with welcoming remarks by Janina Kracht and Thomas Hellinger.

The encounter with Titze's work emerged through a shared medium — charcoal — and a shared question: how a line's rhythm might be written onto the page to reproduce what is heard, without illustrating it. Both practices take the music of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt as a point of departure, approaching it not as subject matter but as a temporal structure to be inhabited. The pairing offered an opportunity to set my own performative drawings alongside Titze's series, and to think publicly about what it means for two artists, working independently, to arrive at the same question by different routes.

The exhibition also presented works by Alexandra Schewski & Stefanie Busch and Juliane Vowinckel & Anne Rosinski.
